Episode 193: The Number One Reason Why People Fail

Do you know when life gets easier?  It is when you get better. Joel McKinley joins me to discuss why people are finding failure more often than success, holding yourself accountable for being inconsistent and the importance of creating daily habits to help you achieve your personal and professional goals.

Highlights:

  • “When you do what’s easy, your life will be hard. When you do what’s hard, your life will be easy.”
  • When you set your mind to change but you do too much too fast you falter and go back to what you are comfortable with and fall back into old habits.
  • Discipline is comprised of consistency and focus.
  • We must be our own biggest accountability partner and become a “disciple of discipline” in your daily habits.
  • When you can identify your top three personal gifts or talents, and when you can operate within them, you will find your own personal style of delivery of those items, and that’s where it gets really good.

Episode 151: C + F + D =

When you access that extra capacity within you and realize that it has always been with you, that is when you realize that you have been making up excuses in your mind.   Recently I have been realizing how little of our capacity we have been accessing and so I want to take you through a formula to help you become more.

Key Takeaways:

  • Most people maybe use 15 to 20% of their total capacity in their mind alone
  • What we put into our mind means everything as far as results in our business and our life
  • You’ve got to implement consistency into your life, into your habits into your daily regimen, whatever that looks like, no excuses.
  • Stay focused. Follow one course until success or you will be left behind.
  • You must discipline yourself so no one else needs to.
  • Now that you have the key components of the equation what does it equal?

Until next time, get out there and make a difference, be unstoppable, and leave no regrets!

  • The law of reciprocity – treat everybody the right way
  • Taking a dip into social media starting with Yelp and how that grew to further engagement on social media

About Our Guest:

Daniel Seong was born in South Korea in 1979 and moved to Burbank, Ca in 1984.  He grew up with two older sisters and a younger brother.  After a week of graduating high school he was on “the bus” to bootcamp.  He served in the Marine Corps with an Honorable Discharge in 2002.  He now lives in Irvine, CA with his beautiful wife Christina of 16 years and has 4 amazing daughters (Nicole, Natalie, Leah & Lauren) & son (Nathan).

Daniel is a firm believer in “the harder you work, the luckier you get”.

Daniel founded Great Park Insurance from his bedroom desk working 2-day jobs, plus a graveyard shift to support his family.  At one point, having only $200 to his name with 4 kids, he decided to plant his flag in the industry and make it happen!  No excuses!

“Being on welfare and having to send my wife to the grocery store with food stamps made me work harder than I ever could have imagined.” – Daniel Seong

“I took 7 days off my first 5 years in the business and five of them were for Christmas.” – Daniel Seong

Great Park Insurance is currently licensed in 8 States (Arizona, California, Colorado, New Jersey, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Washington) and The Team speaks 8 languages (English, Cantonese/Mandarin, Turkish, Spanish, Korean, Romanian, Hindi, Greek).

Daniel is living his dream life by being able to come out to the office every day to inspire, lead and develop his team members.  Recently, he was featured in “The Last Agent Standing Volume 5” as Great Park Insurance has become Yelp’s highest rated insurance agency in the country.

“Consistency will always be greater than talent.” – Daniel Seong

He enjoys creating memories with his loved ones, one-on-one dates with his kids and getting old together with Christina.  All his kids want 4 kids of their own so a simple family dinner will consist of 32 people.  This is Daniel’s ultimate dream.

“What a life I get to live.” – Daniel Seong
