Episode 208: Planned Pro-Active Disruption with Jesse Parenti

Are you ready to revolutionize your approach to risk management and take your insurance business to new heights? Tune in as I explore the world of proactive risk management with Jesse Parenti, an expert in the insurance industry. Jesse shares his valuable insights from working in the unique niches of the pizzeria and cannabis industries, and how his focus on company culture, safety, and accountability has led to his success.

Highlights:

  • If you come in with an idea of solving a problem, not quoting insurance, that’s really the beginning of separating yourself from what everyone else is doing the industry.
  • Establishing your CSA – Culture, Safety and Accountability
  • If you actually help people be proactive, they will trust you in a way that no one has.
  • The OSHA safety code is the bible of safety, and issues with an employee can often be resolved with effective communication between HR and Safety departments.
  • Ensure that you have built accountability into your culture
  • Create a leadership that is focused on the pro-active rather than the reactive.
  • Why should people do business with your company over and above all of the options available to them? Because you already have you CSA proactively in place.

Episode 161: Accountability Breeds Responsibility

At UPP we coach leaders through the skills of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, motivation, and one of the most important skills, accountability. When you have accountability, you have responsibility. I am going to focus mainly on personal accountability; however, you can take these strategies that I am going to give you and build them for your team and organizational accountability as well.

Key Takeaways:

  • When you build accountability into your world and into your life, into your daily habits, it will change everything for you forever
  • There are no limits. The only limitations that you have are those that you make for yourself in your mind and this self-accountability will help you reach beyond that.
  • Find an Accountability Partner to help you stay focused on being accountable for what you set out to do and what you said you were going to do
  • Set three top goals for the day, the week, the month, and the quarter and make them all interrelated.
  • An Accountably Partner should be as committed as you are, 100% willing to do the work, and 100% trustworthy.

Episode 115: Coach ‘Em Up Or Coach ‘Em Out

So, you have hired the best applicant for the position. But just because they were the best does not mean that they need little training and coaching.  In this week’s episode, I discuss what the onboarding process should look like including training and evaluation.  This is all-important because you will need to determine whether there is potential for growth within the agency or if you need to release them back into the marketplace.

Highlights:

  • You have hired however you still need to be recruiting, never stop
  • After hiring there are different phases to put your new recruit through; training, motivation, and accountability.
  • The 10,000-foot view of the insurance business, what it is, and the tools used to implement this training
  • Creating short term, mid-term, and long-term expectations for new team members
  • Utilizing checklists for getting them started in your agency
  • Assigning various mentors to train on different days so as not to tax the demands of your other employees
  • A look at the first few weeks of training, with both expectations and accountability being evaluated
  • Identifying areas of needed improvement to determine whether you are continuing with them or termination
